As It Was, So It Is

As In Years Past

No matter the outcome in today's election about half the nation will be disappointed with the results.
Remember:
"We know what our policy is regarding the territory of Israel, Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia and even Nagorno-Karabakh. What is our policy regarding the territory of the United States? No nation in history has ever been as willing to accommodate those who would dismember it as has the United States of America. Trying to get a straight pro-U. S. comment out of a U.S. elected official is like trying to nail a custard pie to the side of a barn."

Maybe I Can Get That Reading Job

Election Day Lament

I'm SO glad it's over. No more snarky campaign ads. No more polling. No more signs littering-up the landscape. This campaign as lasted TWO YEARS. I'm exhausted. I'm almost (but not quite) to the point of not caring.

Yes, I voted by absentee ballot a week or so ago. I hate lines. (Yeah, right, Karen, you go to Magic Kingdom at the drop of a hat yet you don't want to stand in line to vote? That's big of you.)

Sure, I'll listen to (I really don't watch, but the TV is always on in the background) all the election coverage. I'll read all my favorite pundits as I always do. But, really, I could NOT be happier that we've reached this day.

Uh oh. What? The 2012 campaign begins tomorrow?
DO NOT GO THERE. DO NOT!

Let Me Ask You This

When I'm at work, I look at the clock a dozen times an hour. The time drags, I feel my fidgets become twitches. I can't sit still. I need to go to the restroom. I need a drink. I need some air. Any excuse to do something else.

The opposite side of the same coin. I'm home. I begin reading my daily newspapers, visit conservative sites, entertainment sites, or some blog. I make an entry in my blog. Oh goodness, I forgot, I had something on the stove, (I'm probably alerted because something is now burning.) I was supposed to get a shower. The dogs are out of dog food. I don't return the calls I should. Minutes and hours pass and I'm still here. Reading. Saving things. Making/taking notes. TIME FLIES.

What is wrong with this picture? Can someone tell me where I can get a paying job that allows me to READ or write all day? Mostly read. I'd like that--no, I'd LOVE that. You've always been told to do what you love. If you turn your hobby into your job, you'll be happiest. You know, I've never been offered a job where all I had to do was read. If you see one, let me know. I'll apply.

MONKEY ALERT!!!
