You KNOW I love me some Vincent D'Onofrio playing Det Bobby Goren on Law and Order Criminal Intent. (Yes, Dwain and Patty got me hopelessly addicted.) However, in a piece on Town Hall Blogs a fellow from Wisconsin named Hal makes an interesting point.
When Liberalism Happens to Good TV

Law & Order: Criminal Intent is usually a fabulous show. Vincent D'Onofrio's character, Bobby Goren, is the best detective since Dirty Harry, and the writing is usually smart and interesting...except when they contaminate it with liberal garbage.
I just watched an episode in which the villain was a psychologist who, wracked with guilt over the torturing she took part in at Camp Gitmo, did the same to a student back home, who went on to kill somebody. Cliches abound: "Fighting terror with terror?" "Don't you manipulate suspects, Detective? - But we respect their rights!" And so forth.
First off, we have no legal obligations to jihadists under the Geneva Convention. They aren't a formal army, they represent no signatory to Geneva, & they have no respect whatsoever for any rules of warfare.
Second, we're fighting the most bloodthirsty savages on the face of the planet. They'll stop at nothing to kill infidels, including your children. They want the entire world dominated by a new Dark Age under sharia law. As Ronald Reagan said of Communism (and it's even more true today) in “The Speech”: "We're at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it's been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening.
"I'm sorry, but if we can get any information from these barbarians that can save American lives, I don't really care how. The stakes are too high.
